KAPILUX  – Capillary System

KAPILUX is an insulating glass with an integrated capillary pane. The type description “T” stands for a capillary pane made of transparent material. The capillaries do not only reduce heat losses with Ug-values up to 0.8 W/(m²K) | 0.14 Btu/(h ft² °F): Their front-directed light dispersion significantly improves the illumination of the depth of the rooms – a valuable feature on cloudy days, especially in rooms that are illuminated from the side.

KAPILUX offers an excellent thermal insulation with Ug-values up to 0.8 W/(m²K) | 0.14 Btu/(h ft² °F). The thermal sun protection and the glare protection can be determined according to individual requirements. The energy- and light transmission and the degree of light diffusion can be individually matched with the façade orientation and the usage of the respective rooms. Additional properties of KAPILUX are partial transparency, a typical vivid optical appearance and a stunning effect of depth.

KAPILUX is an insulating glass with integrated capillary plate. The type-descitption “W” stands for whitely coloured material.

Increased demands for glare control can be meet through the white colouration of the material “Type W”. The capillaries don’t only reduce thermal losses with Ug- values up to 0.8 W/(m²K) | 0.14 Btu/(h ft² °F): in addition, their forward-directed light dispersal improves the illumination of the depth of the room, a feature which is extremely valuable on cloudy days in rooms that are illuminated from the side.

KAPILUX offers excellent thermal insulation with Ug- values up to 0.8 W/(m²K) | 0.14 Btu/(h ft² °F). The thermal sun protection and the glare protection can be individually adjusted. Furthermore, energy- and light transmission as well as the light diffusion can be adjusted in accordance with the façade orientation and the respective use of the rooms which lie behind. Further characteristics of KAPILUX are its partial transparency as well as a typical vivid visual appearance and a depth-effect.

KAPILUX WS is a direction selective sun protection system with individually adjustable capillary axes. It provides:

  • glare protection against the incidence of sunlight on the remote side of the axes

  • light diffusion for the improved distribution of the daylight

  • light transmission and thermal sun protection (depending on requirements)

  • partial transparency on the adjacent side of the axes

The standardises product KAPILUX WS has a capillary axis that us perpendicular to the glass. In some situations, it is advisable to construct the capillary axes in a rather sloping way. The vertically incoming rays of sunlight are thus prevented from being incident through the capillaries. The product type KAPILUX WS has been designed for such cases.
